These are the different cardiology services we offer at Hospital Clínico Universitario Virgen de la Victoria in Málaga.
CARDIAC SURGERY
The Cardiac Surgery Department, integrated within the Heart Unit, carries out around 350 major cardiac surgery cases per year, providing up-to-date, high-quality care.
HAEMODYNAMICS
The Haemodynamics and Interventional Cardiology laboratory is a national benchmark in the percutaneous implantation of aortic valve prostheses in patients at high surgical risk.
HEART FAILURE
In the Heart Failure Unit, we have the team to establish the diagnosis, provide appropriate care, and carry out outpatient follow-up for these patients.
ADULT CONGENITAL HEART DISEASE
The Adult Congenital Heart Disease Unit is dedicated to caring for patients over 17 years of age with congenital heart disease, corrected or not, and for patients diagnosed in adulthood.
CLINICAL CARDIOLOGY
The Clinical Cardiology Department includes activity carried out mainly in the outpatient clinics, as well as on the clinical inpatient ward.
ARRHYTHMIAS
FAMILIAL HEART DISEASE
In the Familial Heart Disease Unit, we treat channelopathies, syndromes, and other genetically based conditions with familial presentation, often associated with sudden death.
CARDIAC IMAGING UNIT
PULMONARY HYPERTENSION UNIT
In the Pulmonary Hypertension Unit, we provide care for patients whose pulmonary arterial pressure is abnormal, requiring the heart to work harder within the circulatory system.
MARFAN UNIT
Since September 2010, we have had a Marfan Unit, with an official administrative schedule, which cares for patients with Marfan syndrome through a multidisciplinary strategy.
CARDIAC REHABILITATION
RESEARCH LABORATORY
Its main line of research is the regeneration of damaged cardiac tissue in patients who have suffered an acute myocardial infarction or have chronic disease.
NURSING
The nursing professionals of the Clinical Management Unit of the Heart Unit demonstrate extraordinary team cohesion, have a strong capacity to monitor patients, and are adapted to an environment of continuous learning and constantly evolving systems.
