Various professionals from the Heart Unit of Hospital Clínico Universitario Virgen de la Victoria are university lecturers at UMA and supervise medical and nursing residents (MIR and EIR).

The Heart Area of Hospital Clínico Universitario Virgen de la Victoria actively participates in the university teaching at UMA (University of Málaga). Members of our Department have served as clinical tutors for medical residents since 1992.

UNDERGRADUATE:
Medical-Surgical Pathology of the Circulatory and Respiratory Systems (4th year). Coordinator: Eduardo de Teresa. Communication in Medicine (1st year). Internal Medicine I (4th year).
BACHELOR’S DEGREE (Old curriculum):
Intensive and Emergency Medicine.
POSTGRADUATE:
Sports Medicine Clinic, coordinator Eduardo de Teresa
Doctoral Course “Introduction to Clinical Research,” co-sponsored by the FIMABIS Foundation and the RECAVA Cardiovascular Research Network. Directors: Manuel F. Jiménez Navarro and Eduardo de Teresa.
Likewise, the Cardiology Department actively participates in the practicals for 4th and 6th-year Medical students, delivering seminars and supervising clinical practicals; and for students of the School of Physical Activity and Sports Medicine. Clinical Electrocardiography (Physical Activity and Sports Medicine), 2nd Year, Coordinator Eduardo de Teresa.
POSTGRADUATE TEACHING:
The heads of the teaching area of the Cardiology Department are Doctors Juan José Gómez Doblas (Head of Clinical Cardiology Section at Hospital Universitario Virgen de la Victoria), Fernando Cabrera Bueno (Director of Studies and President of the Teaching Committee at Hospital Clínico Universitario Virgen de la Victoria), and Juan H. Alonso Briales.
Postgraduate teaching experience with training for cardiology residents began in 1992. Teaching is also provided to residents from other specialties at this Hospital (Internal Medicine, Anesthesia, Family Medicine, Pulmonology, etc.), as well as to cardiology residents from other centers who come to rotate in our center in the Arrhythmias and Cardiac Rehabilitation areas.
