The Heart Department of Hospital Clínico Universitario Virgen de la Victoria offers downloadable information for patients, such as recommendations for their hospital stay, advice for patients with coronary problems, on care after pacemaker implantation, after catheterization, ablation, etc.
PATIENTS
Learn more about patient rights and responsibilities, and about the heart failure patient school, with sessions delivered by patients themselves, in a new approach to traditional health education.
Caregiver Workshop
In order to improve care for our patients and their informal caregivers, in 2014 a series of training workshops were created to expand the knowledge and information of informal caregivers regarding the services offered by our healthcare system.
Monthly workshops are held with the following fixed content:
“More Care” card.
Advance directives registry.
Hand hygiene.
Additionally, other topics are incorporated such as:
Sexuality in chronic patients.
Conflict resolution.
Relaxation.
Etc.
The sessions take place in the same unit, at the Patient School, starting at 2:00 PM. Volunteer services are offered to caregivers of admitted patients; this way we ensure their attendance. Complementary to this activity, the Internal Medicine Unit conducts workshops every Monday, aimed at all caregivers who have patients admitted to the different hospital units.
