PATIENTS

Learn more about patients’ rights and responsibilities, and about the Heart Failure Patient School, with sessions delivered by patients themselves, offering a new approach to traditional health education.

Patient School

By joining the project of the Andalusian School of Public Health, the Heart Clinical Management Unit launched the Heart Failure Patient School in 2010. The aim of this project is to improve the health and quality of life of people living with heart failure.

This initiative provides a meeting point, a space to share experiences among patients, families and professionals. The Heart Failure Patient School offers knowledge and skills to:

Improve the ability to adapt to changes after diagnosis.

Increase the patient’s knowledge about their condition and the established treatment regimen.

Ensure correct adherence to it.

Manage their health situation.

The educational sessions are delivered by professionals from the Heart Failure Unit together with expert patients, which represents a new approach to traditional health education: patients are co-participants in their own health. The aim is to foster knowledge exchange on managing the condition and for the patient to take a more active and responsible role in their health.

The sessions are held in the hospital auditorium at 10:00. Two monthly workshops have been scheduled:

The first Thursday of each month, for patients who have had a device implanted, such as a pacemaker or defibrillator.

The second Thursday of each month for patients with heart failure.

If you are interested in attending, you may register by completing this form.

You will receive confirmation by post with the date and time of the workshop (or workshops) you have registered for.

Patients may attend accompanied by family members.
